CodePen NYC Kick off! - A Show and Tell Event

This will be our first CodePen NYC kick off event!

Agenda:

• 6:30PM - 15min - We'll give a quick run through of the latest happenings in web dev along with tidbits of design and cryptocurrency. Inspired by the Versioning Newsletter https://www.sitepoint.com/versioning

• 6:45PM - 20min - Slot A - Presentation

• 7:05PM - 20min - Slot B - Presentation

• 7:35PM - 30min - Show-and-tell CodePen demos picked out from user posts below or ones we find interesting. We'll call you up and you can give a brief talk about the Pen if you created it or we'll just show a few pens people found interesting. For those that use CodePen in their daily workflow, we'd love to hear about that too!

• 7:35PM to 9:00PM - socialize and network.

Presentation #1:
Vimsical (https://vimsical.com/) - A Learnable WorldDescription:Our challenge, not just for education, but for the world, is to make things self-explanatory. Whatever you see, you should be able to learn how it was made. Vimsical is a Codepen-like editor with a built-in version control system, that turns regular coding sessions into tutorials, automatically. Dennis (twitter: @denik) is a coder, educator, and co-founder of Vimsical.

Presentation #2:
Building Decentralized Apps on Codepen using Blockchains
Description:
This will be a demo and intro on how to build Decentralized apps using Codepen. Some blockchain technologies we'll go over are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ardor/NXT. Pat is a Drupal full stack designer working with blockchain technologies since 2014 at xCubicle.
