Join us as we work through Melody Beattie's Codependent No More workbook over the next ten weeks (ending 07/05/2020). The exercises are powerful and exactly what one might naturally do in order to get on the path to hope, healing, and the freedom to be your own best self. In the grip of codependency, we take on other people's problems. We might be fixated on a loved one with depression, an addiction, an eating disorder, or a pattern of unhealthy decisions or other self-destructive behavior.

This group is for people who notice they tend to say "yes" when they mean "no" (or vice versa). "Many people show signs of classic codependency, no matter what generation they're in: people-pleasing, caretaking, controlling, lack of boundaries, and believing they're deprived and undeserving." This program is meant to improve your daily life by supporting you in setting and enforcing healthy limits, learning empowering ways to give and nurture, experiencing genuine love and forgiveness, and letting go and detaching from others' harmful behaviors.

We will work together to develop insight, strength, and resilience to start taking care of yourself by committing to a 10-week program. As you may already know, studies show it takes close to 12 weeks to break old beliefs and habits, and create new ones.

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • 1 hour every Sunday (for ten weeks beginning 04/19/20) at 6 pm EST to attend the group meeting
  • About 30 minutes per week to complete the homework and tasks/activities

You will need:

  • The Codependent No More Book & Workbook
  • A notebook
  • A candle or incense of your liking
  • Your favorite essential oil (contact me if you're in need of some essential oil)

Think of this as an OPEN group, a book club / support group for those who have challenges with people pleasing, lack of boundaries, addiction, and unhealthy relationships with people/things. Participating in this group will also support you in realizing your blocks, fears, and limiting beliefs in the area of codependence/independence/interdependence. As we realize these blocks, we can then actively work to heal them. During each session will be a time of self care and healing, with the intention of a restorative experience where you gain clarity and self awareness.

The program will start Sunday, April 19th, 2020 at 6 pm EST via Zoom.

SESSION EIGHT, 06/14/2020:

We will begin every group meeting with a brief guided meditation.

What We Will Discuss:

  • Taking personal inventory (continuing to), and when we are wrong, promptly admitting it
  • Learning to Live and Love Again
  • Why does something that feels so good seem so difficult to do?
  • Taking personal responsibility for mistakes
  • Get in the habit of stopping that obsessive focus on others
