This is mostly an excuse to eat tacos!
But this is also a cross-group strategic networking event. Make connections with people that have a different technical focus than you do. Of course, there may also be people who have the same focus as you so you can also do some operational networking as well.

Don’t wait until you lose a job or graduate in a couple weeks to start networking. Always be networking!! Go to more than one group’s meetings and show up regularly so that people get to know you, like you, and want to help you.
