Featured Workshop: Functional JavaScript (https://github.com/timoxley/functional-javascript-workshop)

Many functional programming learning resources will teach you to write functional code, but it's often highly indirect, deeply abstracted, requires understanding complex relationships between custom library calls, and doesn't represent the reality of how people actually write JavaScript.

The goal of this workshop is to create realistic problems that can be solved using terse, vanilla, idiomatic JavaScript.

The format will be:

• 30 minutes of food & socialization
• Brief (15 minute) presentation where we give introductions, present news links and make any other announcements. Then we introduce the workshop of the night
• Interactive, hands-on, programming workshop. Our featured workshop will be Functional JavaScript (https://github.com/timoxley/functional-javascript-workshop), but feel free to work on any module that fits your pace and level!

Our meetups always feature an interactive element so a laptop is required. There is always lots of support to work through any installation or other issues that arise. Also there are lots of

power outlets.

Exit Headquarters Dr. and stay on the service road.
Make a right in the last parking garage before you arrive at the light on Legacy Dr.

If you are arriving from Northbound on Dallas North Tollway:
Exit Headquarters Dr.
Make a Left on Headquarters Dr.
Make a Left on the service road.
