CodeUp is a free mentoring program for adults who want to learn how to code. This month we’ll be operating on a learner-led drop in basis - meaning there’s no set agenda or workshop leader - just a group of learners and mentors. Have a think of the kind of thing you’re interested in learning about, or if you’re an experienced dev please consider sharing whatever projects you’re working on at the moment.

Code Nation, Chester's new and only coding school is CodeUp Chester's main sponsor and they’ll be on hand to answer any questions you have about the great work they do.

CodeUp Chester is suitable for anyone - from complete beginners who have never written a line of code, to experienced developers, and anyone in between. We often see people who want to get into coding, but don’t know the first thing. We’ll be able to buddy you up with someone who knows their stuff, or include you in any group conversations we think would be useful for you.

This is an awesome opportunity to take that first step into finding out more about programming, hack away at side projects, or meet with other newbies, developers & techies. We’re not any one language exclusive, but feel free to let us know what your experience/interest is in before you arrive

What is CodeUp?

CodeUp Chester is a mentoring program for adults who would like to learn how to code for free. Once a month we provide a workspace for people with no programming skills to come and learn the basics, with mentors available to answer your questions and help you on your way.

Our sessions are also be suitable for people with basic skills who need support to develop them, and even for people with intermediate or advanced skills who just want to come along to a space where everyone is immersed in code!

What do I need to bring with me?

Computers will be provided for your use, but there’ll be free WiFi and power available if you’d rather bring your own.
