OpenCourts Project - Biweekly Sync

Join volunteers at Code with the Carolinas for the biweekly meeting about OpenCourts, a project to build an open data portal for North and South Carolina legal data.. Starting with aggregate datasets from South Carolina courts, volunteers will be working to adopt this data (and our site being constructed to host it) to standards and measures more usable for accountability and analysis. These principles of analysis are drawn from guidance provided by the legal accountability organization Measures for Justice, whose limited work in the Carolinas we are trying to renew and expand.

This effort is building toward multi-state data portal that catalogues and publishes trusted, permissively-licensed court records to ensure open legal data remains a public good accessible to everyone. ️

Anyone welcome whether an already identified volunteer on the project or just curious. We do encourage new participants to fill out this interest form.
