Monthly Book Chat -- Dracula

Details

Why read Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897)?

Because it isn’t just a classic—it’s the classic when it comes to vampire tales. Nearly every story since, from Anne Rice to Twilight, owes something to this dark and enduring novel.

Beneath the thrills and chills lie deeper themes: repression and desire, fear of the foreign “other,” the clash of science and superstition, and the timeless questions of life, death, and immortality. It’s all here—and more.
I’ll be reading Dracula for the first time myself (God save me!), and I’m excited to share the experience with you.

So appropriate the timing right in the Halloween season, to sink our fangs into and feast upon this unforgettable work together. See you then.
