Bring a thermos, your favourite mug, and a pair of eyes—because we’re heading to Coburg Lake for a slow wander and some good old-fashioned bird spotting. There’s no café at the park, so grab a coffee or tea on your way, or brew one at home. We'll meet at the Coburg lake reserve carpark (look for the person holding a mug and squinting at the trees), then stroll the walking paths along Merri Creek at an easy pace. Expect ducks, parrots, fairy-wrens, and the occasional bin chicken doing something dramatic. No birding experience needed—just curiosity. We’ll walk, sit quietly, listen, maybe share sightings, maybe not. Stay for a bit or hang the whole time. Totally up to you. This is our very first meetup so even if you’re just curious, we’d love to have you there. It’s a no-pressure space to connect with nature and people who care. You don’t need to know birds or bring fancy gear. Just come with a drink and a bit of curiosity.
