We're excited to announce a brand new Coffee Club series where we help kickstart other clubs that Barcelona needs. Each edition, a Coffee Club member takes the reins and brings their community together. First up: Zoja, who would love to gather people from the Balkans, and Balkan lovers, for a cultural soirée. Excited to see you there xo Jenna

It's time to gather Balkan people and all the lovers of the Balkans. If you've ever had a Balkan friend, teammate, or neighbor, you already know what I mean, that unique character, the warmth, the directness, the humor that hits straight from the heart. You feel it immediately. It makes a difference.

This isn't your usual coffee club. Inspired by how great it is to grab a coffee with a cool friend weekly, you will:

INVITATION: Saturday 04 April, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ in front of The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, Pl. de Carles Buïgas, Sants-Montjuïc, 08038 Barcelona

  • Meet up with high-quality, high-vibe people at Montjuïc in comfy clothes, and bring your best friend, especially if they're a Balkan lover (they need to be, right?)
  • Grab a drink, walk, explore, and embrace the beauty of Montjuïc together
  • Have an awesome chat *OUR CONVERSATION STARTER FOR THIS EVENT IS "Teach me your favorite homemade meal, the one someone you love taught you…" Let's talk about the thing every Balkan person misses most when living abroad: FOOD. The smell of home. The meals our moms and grandmas prepare the moment we walk in from the airport. Tell the story behind it. Let food connect us, as it always has in the Balkans. Because you're not truly Balkan if you don't enjoy food slowly, with all your senses. And let's laugh about that classic Balkan question every mom asks: "Šta si jela?" WHAT DID YOU EAT? Because in the Balkans, food equals love. You know exactly what I mean.
  • Zoja starts: "My grandma always made me a quick tomato soup when I returned from long trips, something warm, simple, and full of energy. Not salmorejo, not gazpacho, just pure, comforting tomato soup." She's shared hers. Now it's your turn.
  • Why Montjuïc? Because it's a place where cultures meet. Where water dances with light. Where the Mediterranean opens its arms to the Balkans. And because nature, sunlight, and laughter are daily essentials, and we want to share that energy with you.
  • Experience that happy, buoyant feeling that comes from an engaging, pleasant chat
  • Continue on with the rest of your day

Just show up, bring your story, and let's begin this Balkan vibe journey.

Disclaimers: This meetup is free, but logically you must purchase your own coffee or beverage at a nearby spot. The primary language of this meetup will be English; the organizer Jenna also speaks Spanish for any questions or needs, and Zoja speaks Serbian and Croatian, so we will kick that Balkan vibe. Note that while this meetup is in English, this is not an English language learning group, this is a way for incredible strangers (both locals and expat locals, we're about 50/50) to get together, chat, and connect about real topics. If you'd like, please provide a reason / intention for attending so that Jenna and Zoja can make this great for you. Jenna will be actively hosting this space so don't be surprised if she sends you out for a walk with a stranger, or changes it up a bit to encourage connection. Note that Jenna is intentionally keeping this group free and using the power of it to support local third-space coffee spots that bring people together in Barcelona. Be sure to join our The Club WhatsApp group after attending one of our Coffee Clubs to be connected with all of our people in Barcelona, in a no-spam, no-sales, genuinely just cool people meeting up, kind of way. If you'd like to support and/or team up with Jenna, buy her a coffee, check out her work at holajenna.com, or find her at the next coffee club and say the code word: kaleidoscope.

Meeting up in person! Saturday 04 April, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ in front of The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, Pl. de Carles Buïgas, Sants-Montjuïc, 08038 Barcelona

Who is shaping the experience of this group?
Zoja is a curious soul, a traveler, an explorer. Made in Croatia, raised in Serbia, wandering across Europe, and now living in Spain for two years. Somewhere along the way, Spain became home too, so now her heart carries three homes: Croatia, Serbia, and Spain. Maybe that hidden Spanish gene was always there. She's also an agriculturist, an ecologist, and a hidden writer. Nature grounds her, sunlight fuels her, and stories move her. She believes in the power of people gathering in open spaces, breathing fresh air, sharing laughter, and exchanging memories that feel like home. Serbians usually say: "Rakija connects people." This time, she wants to connect Balkan people and lovers of Balkan culture through something even more symbolic, a gathering in the open air, under the sunlight, in front of the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.

Jenna is a people person, and the founder of AMARIMA, a hot experience design consultancy crafting deeply resonant and immersive experiences that fuse multi-sensorial design, narrative-based hospitality, and behavioral design. She and her team work with some of the world's top hotel brands, experience-driven companies, and individuals to "turn up the dial on life." Among the many things she's done, she's traveled the world living out of a backpack, interviewed famous environmentalists in viral YouTube videos, written a book of travel stories that's in bookstores across the US, hosted multiple podcasts, guest lectured in media and storytelling at top universities, and coached and mentored thousands of people who want to live deep and fulfilling lives. Jenna also founded and chairs the mentorship organization The Human Board. With her home in Barcelona and work happening in cities around the world, Jenna hosts Coffee Club Barcelona to bring together high-quality, high-vibe people, and foster real community.
