22nd Street Coffee Shop is located in Palmetto Beach, one of Tampa's oldest and most historic and storied neighborhoods. Palmetto Beach played a prominent role in the development of Tampa as the Cigar Capital of the United States. It is a neighborhood rich in history and folklore!

Tom Reynolds, a 4th Generation and life-long Palmetto Beach resident and neighborhood leader, will talk about the history of Palmetto Beach, from its first cigar factories in 1894 and its 'Tin Can Tourists' to the vibrant and evolving neighborhood it is today. Tom is currently Vice President of the Palmetto Beach Community Association. He is also a member of the Rough Riders, the Italian Club, the Rotary of Ybor and the Elks Lodge.

Sip one of Ybor City's most popular coffee drinks from the Cigar City era, the Colada while learning about an important and entertaining piece of Tampa history! The Colada will be prepared by our skilled Baristas and the recipe will be shared at the end of our Meetup!
