Coffee Talks was created to bring together all the key players in Austin’s real estate development space – financing and banking, small businesses, City staff and community advocates, real estate developers, architects, insurance providers, real estate brokers, and construction professionals.
Designed as Socratic seminars, these events foster equal and thoughtful dialogue among participants. While there will not be a traditional panel at the front of the room, we have specifically invited experts like you to help lead and guide the conversation.
The main topic we will present to the group this session is: Making it easier to open Brick and Mortar Businesses in Austin, Texas"
This could include businesses in small-scale food production, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, health and wellness, self-care, or professional services.
Our discussion’s framework looks at four key elements: the public sphere (sidewalks, roads, and government), the land, the structure/building, and the tenant. We aim to feature experts who can speak to the regulations and potential roadblocks in each of these areas, along with possible solutions or ideas that could lead to better outcomes for small businesses.
We look forward to hosting you on Thursday, August 21, from 8:00–9:30 a.m. at the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center café space. Coffee and light bites will be served alongside a lively and meaningful conversation.
