Brock Ellis - Apprenticeships & the Code Community
Details
Come listen to Brock Ellis, the Director of Development at Sycamore Education and a chairman for the Fremont Creative Collective, discuss developer education and apprenticeships.
Presentation Overview:
Education is important and we are working on cultivating and educating software developers. At the Fremont Creative Collective, we are working on improving the community through entrepreneurship and technology. Learn more about different coding education opportunities (online and in person), as well as what it looks like to be an apprentice for those who are more experienced.
About Brock:
I am an open web evangelist and semi-full stack developer. My goal in life is to never stop learning. I love to fail fast and will try my hardest to do better the next time. The feeling of helplessness when you immerse yourself in a new concept or topic really gets my blood pumping. I enjoy reading tech blogs, browsing Stack Overflow or coding one of my many side projects in my spare time.
Specialties: Whiteboarding (feature planning), following the breadcrumbs (debugging), and spreading the good word (mentoring/teaching open web technologies).
