Shop Talk Topic: Old Books Never Die - Proven Methods To Re-Branding Existing Books
Unlike the “old days,” modern self-publishing offer authors the luxury of re-branding a title and drawing in more readers, thus higher sales.
“Everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
― Sylvia Plath
Guest Speaker: Thomas K. Matthews
There was a time when an author hammered away on a manuscript, putting blood, sweat, and tears into a story never told before. When the creative fervor ended, the stack of type paper went to an agent, then presented to the publisher, where the hope was that the working parts could be bound and offered for sale on the hallowed, and crowded, shelves of a local bookstore. I lived in that world, and though I had an agent and a supportive cast, my work was always passed on.
What did I do? Tune in Friday, June 5th at 6pm to find out why old books never die. I'm going to share some effective ways to resurrect your story.
