What we’re about
Hi and Welcome to Neurodivergent Christian Conversations !
I am Kristina, a late diagnosed autistic and ADHDer. (alternatively known as an AuDHDer )
WHY HAVE I CREATED THIS GROUP?
I have started this group for the purpose of creating space and opportunity for others with Christian faith who are also neurodivergent (self discovered and/or formally diagnosed) to meet online and connect with each other and to share with each other about relatable topics. My hope is that genuine community connections may grow here.
WHO IS THIS GROUP FOR?
This group is specifically for people of Christian faith who are also neurodivergent who would like to interact with similar others in a gentle and respectful space.
WHERE WILL MEETINGS BE HELD?
Meetings will be online via zoom
HOW LONG WILL EACH MEETING GO FOR?
Meetings are planned to go for 1 hour, this may change a little from meeting to meeting depending on how many attend on the day
HOW OFTEN WILL MEETINGS BE SCHEDULED?
The plan is for once a month
IS THERE A COST TO JOIN?
Being a part of this group and attending meetings is free
NOTE: THIS GROUP IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY PARTICULAR CHURCH GROUP, DENOMINATION OR ORGANISATION
WHAT HAPPENS AT A TYPICAL MEETING?
After an introduction from the facilitator, each person will have an opportunity and invitation to share their views and experiences on the pre-selected topic and/or to generally share whatever they would like to about their current life and experiences of their faith and neurodivergence.
After personal sharing there will also be time for relevant discussion.
CRITERIA AND AGREEMENTS FOR JOINING GROUP
Kindness and respect towards all other group members at all times
Non-judgmental stance towards all fellow group members
Acknowledgement that each person has unique perspectives and experiences that are valid and meaningful to them that may be different to yours
This is a space to honour and learn from one another, rather than attempting to try to change or preach to others
MEETING GUIDELINES
All that is shared in each group is confidential and not to be shared outside of that group space
Considering the use of "I" statements when sharing personal perspectives and viewpoints is appreciated and encouraged
(taking personal responsibility)
While I would love to see you, having your camera off during the meeting is ok :-)
Please allow each person to speak uninterrupted during their time of sharing
Allow others to express personal experiences and views without critiquing them
Please allow others to remain present during the group meeting time by refraining from sending any personal messages via the chat until the group has ended
(the meetup platform allows members to send personal messages anytime to other members)
IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION NOT ANSWERED HERE, FEEL FREE TO SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE THROUGH MEETUP
thank you, God Bless
