What we’re about
This group includes in-person Qigong classes in Olympia, WA, online Qigong classes, and online writing workshops.
Qigong classes are outside as long as weather permits. Rae teaches a variety of forms, including several Wild Goose forms (ranging from athletic to meditative), Taiji Wuxigong, Wuji, An Mo Gong, various Dao Yin and many other shorter Qigong forms. Come learn and practice Qigong for overall wellbeing, transformation, and the joy of being in community. Learn the physics of movement and of Qi, acupoints, channels and vessels, and 5-Phase/Element and Yin-Yang theory to help you understand the inner workings of the movements and forms.
Writing workshops are inspired by nature, and help you work with the Daoist and Wu Xing (Five Phase or Five Element) concepts that underlie Qigong practice.

Nature Writing as Medicine for These Times—Into Subtlety
OnlineWe are living in a time of accelerated change—climate change, technological leaps and bounds, and radical shifts in political, global, and social climates. So how do we support ourselves through the stress of so much change?
In this workshop series, we turn to nature to find solace, insight, inspiration, and medicine to guide us through the pressures and uncertainties of this era. Through observation, immersion, meditations, and generative writing practices, we will explore what nature is, what medicine is, and how we might weave healing into our hearts, our communities, and the Earth itself through the medicine of our writing.
This session (10/12) focuses on practices of deepening into the subtleties of nature through listening, opening to awe, and exploring the inner workings of nature.
(The next session [10/26] focuses on the many intelligences of nature—animal, plant, elemental, and even directional.)
Price for each session of this salon is on a sliding scale: $15-$45.

Hosted by Maker Mentor Muse and Alta Mesa Center for the Arts.
