Death Poetics Writing Workshop
Details
Four Saturdays in November over Zoom, 1-3 PM PST (November 1, 8, 15, and 22)
(All sessions will be recorded and recordings shared with registrants for a limited time afterwards.)
If you are alive now, then your medicine is needed now. YOU MATTER. Your life is precious + mysteriously—finite. Explore the poetics of death: the riddle of why we exist so momentarily; the fear + vulnerability of that brevity; and encased within the husk of that fear—the power that gives us to live our lives fully + for the good of all.
Write your medicine to find it. Live your medicine to be it. Share your medicine to influence healing change in the world.
Caves. Spagyrics. Seeing in the dark. In this multi-genre course, Rae invites you to turn the universal inevitable into a poetics of deep listening, composting, and rebirth. Utilizing element- and earth-based writing practices aligned with the season, students will explore safe containers in which to confront grief, fear, and decay; and fertile ground in which to plant seeds of transformation and renewal in their writing projects, practice, and life.
Pricing:
Sliding scale, $125 - $300 for all four classes and recordings in the workshop series.
Scholarships are also available for anyone needing further financial assistance.
