You can earn your ASC Foundation Certificate tonight

This meeting will not focus on Debating as previously specified but will focus on Audience Rapport with the opportunity for all members to try different ways of achieving it. After the warm up I’ll deliver an education session on Audience Rapport (including a demonstration speech from me) followed by some practise speeches and sone topics (impromptu speeches).

However, the important thing to note is that if you’ve participated in Colchester Speakers for a few months now you’ll be able to deliver a speech which will earn you an ASC Foundation Certificate in Public Speaking and I’ll apply for this immediately after the meeting so you’ll receive it in June. What you’ll have to do to qualify for this is to deliver a speech that demonstrates the ability to prepare a speech, to put meaning into it, to deliver some appropriate gestures and to use your voice in a varied way to achieve audience rapport. Is this OK? Would anyone like to try it? This is a CPD accredited certificate and can be shown to an employer to verify your speaking skills.

Colchester Speakers Club is a fantastic place for beginners to overcome their fears and take their first steps on the road to speaking confidently in public. It's also suitable for more experienced speakers to improve their skills.
