Free: no matter the weather cold water swim and socializing
Sognsvann, https://maps.app.goo.gl/D3iu1MdZCDy61ckd8, Oslo, NOHi All,
Let's start the tribe to fight autumn and winter depression :).
All body sizes are welcome.
It is a good time to start preparing our bodies for winter plunges: exposing ourselves gradually to cold water that isn't freezing cold yet. Especially good for beginners.
📍 We'll meet at Sognsvann, Oslo, by the public toilets: link for the specific location. I will have "Cold water" sign with me.
📜 "Program": We will start with a warm-up and breathing exercises, before we head into the water (it is okay to observe too).
💡 Recommendation: to wear a swimsuit/pants whenever you arrive or before warm-up. So, that you won't lose warmth while changing, we will go into the water right after warm-up. To have an effect: we will stay in water at least for 40 sec.
And afterwards: warming up with a hot drink, chatting with new people, and sharing the experience together.
The event will be held in English.
What to bring:
- hot beverage and water
- snacks
- additional warm/wool clothes, socks
- towel
- shoes for swimming or regular wool socks for entering water (it helps)
💡 Important considerations:
- If you have pre-existing medical conditions, high blood pressure, asthma, or a heart condition, are during pregnancy - consult a healthcare professional before starting cold water exposure.
- No bathing if you have a cold, fever, or otherwise feel uncomfortable or if you have health concerns.
- No bathing under the influence of alcohol, medicine or drugs.
