Description: (provided by the speaker)

Audience: Beginner/Intermediate

In the first part of this two-part series, you will learn the fundamentals of unit testing ColdFusion components. We'll present an overview of this series and why we are going through all this, unit testing terminology, what unit testing is and what it is not, what is appropriate to unit test and what is not (testing CFCs vs CFMs), test driven development and testing myths, the value proposition of unit testing, and how to install the MXUnit tools. We'll finish off with some examples of writing unit tests and test suites. After this presentation, you will be able to install the MXUnit toolset and start writing tests for your code.

Speaker:

He currently holds an MS in Software Engineering from George Mason University and spends the better part of his professional time, solving real-world problems for the Federal Government

  • using, exploring, and integrating software engineering methods and tools, including, ColdFusion, Java, XML, UML/MDA, CM, Agile and Test Driven Development processes. He is dang lucky to have tolerant and loving wife and kids.

RECORDING: Again, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted after the meeting at https://recordings.coldfusionmeetup.com .

LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE LOGIN AS A GUEST. Do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks.

RSVP: As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With 1,300+ members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site).
