Deer Park, Phoenix Lake, Lake Lagunitas, Bon Tempe Lake Loop

Come see for yourself how full the Marin reservoirs are!

This hike is approximately 9 miles. Allow 4.5 hours. We'll start at the parking lot at Deer Park - (199 Porteous Ave., Fairfax), hike to Phoenix Lake, then Lake Lagunitas, and finally to Bon Tempe Lake, and back to the trail head. This is one of my favorite hikes that many people don't know about.

We will have lunch at the Lake Lagunitas picnic area, where there is running water, and bathrooms, and shade

We start at 10am sharp and should be back around 2:30pm (yes you get to sleep in a bit)!

Please arrive around 9:45am to give you time to find a parking space. The weather is supposed to be beautiful on Sunday .

Note-since we are starting late you may need to park in the residential area and walk a block or two to Deer Park.

Hiking pace: Medium to fast. Not for beginning hikers. We hike at a pace where an in shape hiker can have a conversation- not a race. Pace will be 2.5 MPH.

Elevation gain is about 1,525 ft.

Bring plenty of water.

Please arrive a few minutes early. We will circle up on time and leave immediately afterwards.

Please change your RSVP no more than 24 hours in advance if you cannot make it. If you do not take yourself out of the hike more than 24 hours in advance or simply not show up (3 times) you will be removed from the group. There may be people on the waiting list wanting to participate.

Meeting place: We will meet at the Deer Park School parking lot. Also look for my bright red 2021 Ford Ranger in the parking lot.
