Rock Springs, Coastal Trail, Serpentine Point, Colier Springs (10-11 miles)
Details
Come join Colin and Ed on this scenic and beautiful 10-11 mile loop on Mount Tam. The weather on Sunday is supposed to very mild. Perfecter for hiking.
The hike starts at the Rock Springs parking lot/trailhead, so there should be plenty of parking.
We cross the road and head down the mountain until we meet up with the Coastal Trail, where we will have stunning views of the ocean. We then meander over to Laurel Dell and down the Cataract Falls Trail (not all the way).
We continue our hike on the Laurel Dell Fire road, to Serpentine Point, Colier Springs, Rife Camp, and back to Rock Springs.
We will have lunch around 12 noon at a comfortable place on the mountain.
The hike will be 10-11 miles, depending how far down the Cataract falls trail we hike.
Join us after the hike for a drink and/or meal at the Junction Beer Garden (226 CA-1, Mill Valley).
If you haven’t spent much time on Mount Tam (or you love Mt. Tam), you don’t want to miss this adventure.
Note- there are bathrooms at the trail head and one other place along the hike. No running water.
