Lake Lagunitas to E. Peak Mt. Tam loop 8 miles/2,057 El. Gain

Come join Ed on this scenic and beautiful 8 mile loop on Mount Tam. The views from the East Peak will be amazing. The weather on Friday is supposed to be beautiful. Perfect for hiking.

The hike starts at the Lake Lagunitas picnic area parking lot, near the picnic area. There is plenty of parking. Note- there is a parking fee.

We start by heading up the Lake View Fire Road, then onto Eldridge Grade Fire Road, then East Peak Fire Trail. We will have lunch at the top of East Peak.

After lunch we head down to Lake View trail and Collier Trail, and finally Lake Lagunitas Road.

The hike down Collier Trail is steep, so bring your poles.
After the hike we will have a trailgate party in the Lake Lagunitas picnic area (optional). Bring something to share.

If you haven’t spent much time on Mount Tam (or you love Mt. Tam), you don’t want to miss this adventure.

Note- there are bathrooms and water at the trail head and and at the East Peak of Mount Tam.

Pace- We hike at 2.5 miles per hour. This is an intermediate to advanced hike.
Bring water and lunch. Hiking poles are also recommended.
