Come join me on an adventure to Angel Island. We will be taking the 10am ferry from Tiburon to Angel Island. We return on the 3:20pm ferry (last one). It’s a 20 minute ferry ride.

The Hike-Starting at the Angel Island ferry terminal in Ayala Cove, we begin our adventure by hiking up the North Ridge Trail to the Top of Mt. Livermore (the highest peak on the island- 788 ft.). We will have lunch at the top with a gorgeous 360 degree view of the San Francisco Bay.
After lunch we will hike down the North Ridge Trail to Ida Trail and then to the Perimeter Road. We will be hiking about 2/3rds of the way around the island towards Camp Reynolds, where we will spend some time exploring.

I have posted the trail map in a group message.

Finally, we will end up back at the Ferry Terminal. The goal is to get to the Ayala Cove at around 2:30-2:45pm so we have plenty of time to catch the 3:20pm ferry back to Tiburon.

Initial Meeting place in Tiburon- I will be parking at Belvedere park (450 San Rafael Ave., Belvedere), along the street where the parking is free. First come first serve. I will arrive at 9am and start walking to the ferry terminal at 9:15am sharp. It’s a 15-20 minute walk. If you arrive late you can park in the paid parking lot across from Sam’s Anchor Café (5 minute walk to ferry terminal). It’s recommended you arrive at the Tiburon Ferry terminal at 9:30am.

Important-Although the hike is not too strenuous, you
need to be able to walk at a steady 2.5 MPH in order to make it back to the ferry terminal by 3:20pm (last ferry).
We will have a little less than 5 hours to hike 7 miles, do some sightseeing, and have lunch.

If you miss the last ferry, I don’t know how you will get home.

Option- If you don’t want to hike to the top you can continue on the Perimeter Road with minimal elevation gain. I will be going to the top and would meet you at the ferry terminal.

I will be purchasing my ticket in advance on the following web site. www.angelislandferry.com
You can also purchase them at the ferry terminal (as long as it is not sold out).

Cost- A Round-trip ferry ticket costs $19.08. If you are over 65 you receive a small discount.

Note- if you are driving from North Marin or Sonoma, please allow extra time for traffic.
There are bathrooms and running water on the island.

Bring Water and a lunch.
No Dogs allowed on the island.
