Overcoming anxiety
Details
I have suffered from severe social anxiety, up to the point of me locking myself in my flat for months on end because I was too afraid to come out and face people.
After having suffered from this mental disorder for years, I eventually had a breakdown and had had enough. I was signed up for therapy, however the waiting list was 18 months long. This resulted in me taking matters into my own hands.
I did insane amounts of research into anxiety and tested out lots of different therapies and methods on myself. I also spoke to psychologist, life coaches and fellow sufferers to learn even more.
Now I am a lot better and want to share my experiences with others. I will discuss my own journey, what methods and therapies worked and what didn't and how you can apply this to yourself.
This meetup group is about sharing knowledge and experiences with each other. I will lead this session and others in the group can join in on the conversation. You can bring in your own stories and experiences and you will have the help of the others in the group.
We will meet up in the basement of the Barbican centre, at the sofas near the cloakroom. Nearest tubes are Moorgate, Barbican and St. Paul's. Meetup fee of 2 pounds, to help pay for organizer dues.
