How do we create a shareable city?
Details
We're hosting an event for collaborative consumption entrepreneurs, users, enthuasiasts and experts in Toronto to get together to discuss how we can make our city more shareable and make the sharing economy more mainstream as a sustainable alternative to overconsumption.
We are the Toronto chapter of Peers (http://peersorg.tumblr.com/post/64114351731/dinner-with-peers-daily-updates) and the Shareable Map Jam (http://www.shareable.net/blog/join-the-sharing-cities-map-jam), both global movements aimed at discussing the future of the sharing economy.
For the Map Jam, we'd love for everyone to think of organizations, people, startups, etc. that may be interested in joining the movement, as well as mapping out the collaborative consumption resources currently available in our city (I've already put together a map (http://goo.gl/maps/5bVvE) from before that we can add on to).
In February, MaRS Discover District will be hosting an event to discuss how we can make Toronto a more shareable city. We're looking for people already involved in the space who have lots to contribute, so this event would be a great way to gauge interest and start thinking of how we can work together.
Here's what you should bring:
• Your business card for a business card draw, with some pretty sweet prizes. Plus I'll upload a file on our meetup group with everyone's contact information
• A snack, some juice or wine, some fruit, etc. Something we can all share :)
Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all there!
- Lucy and Devon
PS. Feel free to reach out if you’d like us to cover anything else during the session.
