What we’re about
The Network Nation Meetup Group has been established to support the creation of various Network States around the world based on Balaji Srinivasan's book 'The Network State'.
This developed out of the London Futurists Meetup Group. Futurists deal with the study of future trends. They may also seek to influence the future and harness the benefits of these changes. Much of this change relates to technology and its effect on the individual but we are interested in change within communities and the development of new types of communities. These include in person and digital networks and there is a focus on how these communities can be built and thrive in a changing world.
A core objective is to facilitate the connection of those interested in the implememtation of the ideas in the book 'The Network State' by Balaji Srinivasan. The text is available at the site below.

The Network Nation London based and will consider the following issues in relation to the creation of the 'network state'
* The development of new types of communities both online and offline
* The provision of resources such as power, heat, water, food and internet to these communities
* Education including the core curriculum and skill share
* The development of Open Source and shared software including Linux/BSD Unix
* Likely developments in the area of philososphy, religion and spirituality and how they are relevant to the 'network state'
* Bitcoin and the development of crypto currencies in particular in relation to their active use
The focus of this group is the development of communities/skills rather than influencing wider society as there are many other groups for this type of activity. We are also looking at practical action rather than simply being a talking shop, although we also plan to have meetups in pubs to chat over these issues. Trips to existing communities are also planned.
We look forward to meeting up and building our community both digitally and through in person meetups. Anyone interested in these issues is welcome to join this meetup group.
