About us

Monthly gatherings in Oslo where we imagine better futures together through conversation, movement, and art-making. No skills needed. Come as you are 🫶

War and global unrest in the news. First-time events nobody asked for. Prices that keep climbing. Some call it a polycrisis: so many crises at once that a better future gets harder to picture. Most of us carry it alone, until it hardens into numbness, doom or burnout.

Collective Imagination Oslo starts from a simple idea: the way things are isn't the only way they can be. Once a month, we use movement, art-making, guided imagining practices, and conversation to rehearse the future in detail and discover what we could build together. This could look like making a postcard from that future, and everyone leaves with one small step to try in the next 30 days.

Imagining together is a practical skill with a track record. In Liège, one public "what if" about local food helped grow a network of 14 cooperatives. Since 2023, the Collective Imagination Practice Community has connected and funded this work around the world, and this circle is inspired by it. It builds resilience too: research on disasters finds that strong local networks matter most for recovery.
But imagination needs company, safety and practice, and very few places in Oslo offer all three to anyone who walks in. That's what this circle is for ✊

Feel. Imagine. Begin.

It isn't therapy, a lecture, or a debate. It isn't doom or empty optimism. It's practice, the kind that makes a different future easier to see and a little easier to start.
