Barbara Connolly, JD, CEP is the founder of College Choice Counseling®, a firm of
expert college and graduate school counselors and academic subject and test prep
tutors. She was an admission reader at the University of Michigan Ross School of
Business. She is a Certified Educational Planner (CEP) and a professional member of
the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). She is a licensed
attorney. Her skills as a lawyer are fully utilized as she helps students advocate for
themselves in the competitive college admissions process.
Barbara is the author of College Admission Success (May 1, 2021). She was a
syndicated columnist for MediaNews Group on the topic of college admissions. She has
appeared regularly in local and national media to speak about college prep. Her TEDx
talk, “How College Obsession Can Be a Force for Good,” has had nearly 1.5 million
views and was ranked 30 out of the 50 most popular new Tedx talks of 2021.
Barbara and her husband are the parents of four children. All of Barbara&#39;s children were
admitted to Ivy League and other selective colleges. Her experience as a parent is of
tremendous benefit to the families who work with College Choice Counseling®.
Barbara received a BGS from the University of Michigan and a JD from the University of
Detroit School of Law.
