Intro and Future of UAS Beyond Line of Site Flight Ops - Springfield Airpark

Details

If you are in the UAS arena and need a FAA approved flight research site for your UAV technology do not miss this Collider! Dr. Reid Melville, AFRL Strategy Lead for Unmanned Air Systems will be presenting the status and future of the AFRL-Ohio UAS Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) Hub at the Springfield Airpark. This Hub will posture Ohio to be a continued leader in aviation innovation and support UAS activities from development to commercial operations.

This Collider will be affiliated with the UAS conference which is going on at the Dayton Convention Center from Aug 16-17. However if you can’t attend the UAS Conference you can still come to the UAS BLOS Collider. If you are attending the UAS Conference we are sure you are going to want to stick around for the Collider.

The AFRL-Ohio UAS BLOS Hub will be the only place in the country where BLOS flight can be routinely scheduled in national airspace. Operations can cover more than 200 square miles of air space, extend up to 20 miles away, and up to an altitude of more than 8,000’ – where else can you do this in the State of Ohio or surrounding states?

AFRL will be the initial and lead user, but the Ohio/Indiana UAS Center will open access to Non-DoD entities. Program is on schedule and first BLOS flights are expected by early 2017. This Hub will also build UAS partnerships to invest against shared problems and expand the available envelope for commercial/military UAS operations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about the great future Ohio has in the UAS field!!
