Nordic Christmas market in Leverkusen

Dear people,

There will be a Nordic Christmas market in Leverkusen Mitte the weekend of Dec. 13/14 with around 60 stalls, 30 of which will be covered by a tent, so we can still enjoy the market if the weather is bad.

You will be able to buy Scandinavian products such as arts and crafts, as well as Scandinavian food such as moose bratwurst, salmon, waffles with cranberries, venison goulash, köttbullar, Danish red sausage, cinnamon rolls and Swedish-style waffles with cranberries. There will also be Finnish cold drinks, red glögg (instead of mulled wine), white non-alcoholic glögg and hot and cold fruit juices.

There will be live music as well starting at 15:30 p.m.

Entry costs €5 per person and the revenue will be used to maintain the Neuland park.

We will meet at 14:15 p.m. in the city centre, in front of the Christuskirche church at Dönhoffstr. 2, which is about 100 metres away from Leverkusen Mitte train station. After exiting the station towards the city centre, the church is located next to a roundabout and a tea store called TeeGschwender.

From there, we have to walk about 1000 metres through the city, so we will find out if there is another Christmas market in the city.

The station is served by the following commuter train lines: RE 1 (Aachen - Hamm via Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Bochum, Duisburg, Essen); RE 5 (Koblenz - Voerde Friedrichsfeld); and S 6 (Köln-Worringen - Ratingen via Cologne, Cologne Deutz, Cologne Mülheim, Düsseldorf airport). There are parking garages around the station (Q-park City Center and Q-Park Luminaden).

Please bring some cash, as card payments may not be accepted everywhere.
