Details

CAIML #20 will be an online meetup and it will happen on September 14, 2021, 18:30. We will have a talk by Sebastian Risi, Co-founder and Research Director at modl.ai (https://modl.ai/), on Deep Neuroevolution and a Q&A with Sebastian after the talk:

Agenda
18h30: Start of the meetup via MS Teams and short introduction
18h40: Sebastian’s talk
19h10: Collect questions for Q&A with Sebastian via sli.do
19h15: 15 minutes Q&A

Deep Neuroevolution - A Different Kind of Reinforcement Learning

In this talk, I will present some of our work on creating agents that evolve to learn complex tasks, such as playing games or controlling robots. I will show that these algorithms do not only allow agents to perform in simple environments but also enable them to learn 3D tasks directly from pixels or to adapt quickly to task changes through biologically-inspired forms of meta-learning. Additionally, these agents can not only play games but create their own video game levels on the fly and even learn to build themselves.

We will share the link to the online event shortly before the meetup itself.
