Milena contracted Lyme as a young child from a tick bite she had while playing in her grandmother’s yard in Boulder, Colorado. She has endured her own debilitating, life-altering experience with tick-borne disease, and understands how devastating its impacts can be. Through the depths of her journey through illness, various yogic practices proved to be a guiding light, helping her to connect with her body and quiet her mind.

When she could not move her body, she accessed healing through meditation and breathwork. Yogic philosophy inspired her, helped to ground her perspective, and guided her toward self-development. These techniques and others continue to shape her wellness journey.

Milena's passion for healing through traditional and modified yogic techniques, including meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, asana (the physical postures), and Ayurveda (the Life Science of yoga), led and inspired her to create Soul Tribe Yoga Collective, an online yoga studio designed for others whose lives have been impacted by chronic health conditions.

Soul Tribe Yoga Collective is a culmination of specialized and accessible offerings Milena has curated and developed for others experiencing the challenging and prolonged effects of various chronic health conditions. The majority of her students have tick-borne conditions.

The programs Milena offers are centered on mindfulness, stress relief, nervous system regulation, fascial fluidity, rest, and relaxation. She has compiled elements from Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Gentle, Kundalini, and Kaiut traditions to create a yogic format that softly opens the body, quiets the mind, and introduces healing of various kinds. Her inclusive programs are offered online, and participants join from the comfort of home.

Serving the Lyme disease community is a priority for Milena. She has supported the Colorado Lyme & TBD Support Group, Colorado Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Association, Lyme Disease Awareness Month, Health and Human Services (HHS) Tick-Borne Disease Working Group, Lyme Disease Association, Global Lyme Alliance, and the Center for Lyme Action. Her writing has been featured on Lymedisease.org and she has been a guest on the Tick Boot Camp podcast.
