Refugee Support

Details
Due to the increased interest that many meetup and community members have expressed towards learning about the Colorado refugee programs, we are hosting our first evening (along with several other meetup groups) with the primary focus on refugee resettlement.
Dinner and refreshments will be served while guest representatives from the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Denver will be presenting an overview of the refugee resettlement process in the United States and Colorado in particular. Since 1933, the IRC has been the leading nongovernmental organization in global humanitarian aid, relief, and development. The IRC is currently working in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities. The purpose of the event is to learn about IRC’s efforts. This is not a fund raising event and is meant to help inform the Denver community about ongoing efforts to help refugees and will offer opportunities for participants to support, volunteer, or simply keep informed. The following link provides more information about the IRC as described by the Times columnist Nicholas Kristof in a commentary published on Nov 14, 2016
