Directions: From HWY 24 (West or East bound) turn North on CR 31 (this is about 45 miles West of Colorado Springs and 5 miles West of Lake George). Proceed a mile or so to FR 223 and turn right (East). The campsite will be through the cattle gate on the left about 1 mile. , if available we usually use the second large campsite. GPS location: 39.0481482 -105.449253 (you can cut and paste this into Google maps)
Camping is DRY with no facilities. The closest gas and store is East of Lake George on HWY 24. So, make sure you bring all your needed gear and water.
Agenda:
Pete is going to host a poker run on Friday. Amazon gift card goes to the team with the best poker hand. More details to come
Saturday we will lead organized rides, we hope to return by 3:00 so we can play cornhole with prizes.
We will have a potluck Saturday evening around 6:00 pm. Please bring your favorite dish or appetizer to share.
After dinner, we will raffle off some great gifts, of course there will be "stealing" involved
Ride: Trail Difficulty in this area ranges from Easy to Moderate. The rides usually start about 9:00 a.m. Be prepared for all weather conditions, this is Colorado.
DOT CERTIFIED HELMETS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL CQR RIDES. IT IS ALSO STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL DRIVERS HAVE A FRS OR GMRS TWO WAY RADIO, FOR SAFETY AND TO HELP THE GROUP STAY TOGETHER.
Maps: The Pike National Forest, South Park Ranger District MVUM covers this area.
Also look at Cotrex, "Colorado trail explorer" on the app store, a free app that covers all of Colorado
Gaia GPS is also a great app, but it's not free.
All events require a CQR meetup membership for all drivers and passengers. Guests are welcome to join the club for 30 days for free
