ROUTE: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55253382

Today’s route will be 27.2 miles with 2,244’ of climbing. (However, for those who wish to cut out some of the elevation, there will be two opportunities to easily meet back up with the group while avoiding the climbs.) Starting at Legacy Plaza we will make our way south to the bridge that crosses over the interstate. Once on the west side of the freeway, we will head south to Boulder Street and then climb up Manitou Avenue into OCC. After heading north on 30th street we will turn onto King Street and climb up to Mesa where we will continue climbing until we get to the Garden of the Gods overlook. We’ll take a short break at the Loaf n Jug before climbing up Flying W, Allegheny, and Woodmen. The remainder of the route is a decent to Criterium Bikes and finally along the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail back to our starting point.

The Wednesday Morning Ride is an intermediate (12-14 mph avg.) no-drop ride with catch-up points along the route. There may be a planned rest stop along the route, and we will have a “sweep” and will regroup as necessary to ensure no rider is left behind. The ride leader will publish a Ride with GPS link to the route the weekend before the ride with a start location. You can download a free version of the app from your phones app store.

We will ride 18-30 miles depending on weather and road conditions. Unless noted, we will leave from Legacy Plaza off the I-25 and Centennial exit and ride in different directions each week.

Please arrive early enough to check your bikes ABC’s (air, brakes, chain) so we can roll out on time. Helmets must be worn whenever you are riding the bike.

If you plan to ride, please RSVP to let the ride leader and others know you will be there.

NOTE: With uncertain weather patterns, this ride may become a “show-n-go”. The leader will update the Meetup event as soon as possible. The group that does show agrees where to go together. Be prepared with a sign-sheet. Instructions for where to send it after the ride are at the bottom of the first page.
