2 Night / 3 Day Backpacking Trip – Indian Peaks Wilderness (4th of July Weekend)
Join us for a 3-day, 2-night backpacking adventure in the beautiful Indian Peaks Wilderness over the 4th of July weekend. This route begins at Mitchell Lake Trailhead and offers quick access to some of the most stunning alpine lakes.
The trail climbs gradually through forest and alpine terrain, eventually reaching Blue Lake, nestled beneath the impressive slopes of Mount Toll near treeline. Along the way, we’ll explore several spectacular lakes.
This trip is ideal for hikers who enjoy alpine scenery, clear mountain lakes, and a relaxed backpacking pace while still experiencing some of the best landscapes in the Indian Peaks.

### 📍 Trip Details
Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights
Difficulty: Moderate
Location: Indian Peaks Wilderness
Start: Mitchell Lake Trailhead
Mileage: Appx 5-6 miles a day(exact route shared with participants)
A detailed itinerary will be provided to those who sign up.
Participants should have prior backpacking experience ( we are beginners and will be moving at a slower pace) and be comfortable hiking with a loaded pack.

### 🚗 Transportation / Carpooling
Carpooling as it is time entry, and I did get a parking permit. Would meet at TBD meeting point at 5:00 A.M. Friday July 3. ( 2.5 hr drive to parking area for trail)

### 🎒 Required Gear (You MUST bring your own)
This is a self-supported backpacking trip. You are responsible for bringing all your own gear, including but not limited to:
- Backpacking tent with stakes
- Sleeping bag (rated for overnight mountain temps)
- Sleeping pad
- Water bottles or hydration system
- Water filter or purification method
- Food and snacks for the duration of the trip
- Food storage/bear canister/bag
- Headlamp or flashlight
- Warm layers (temperatures drop significantly at night)
- Rain jacket or weather protection
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
- Portable stove if needed (check wilderness regulations)
- Trash bags (Leave No Trace)
