The quintessential example of the "Bickering Best Buddies" trope is Dumb and Dumber. Other examples of this often poorly presented trope are R2D2 and C3PO; Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson; Ron and Hermione; and George Costanza and Cosmo Kramer.
However, tropes are not always bad. Tropes are used because they work. The important aspect for a writer is knowing how to write a trope so that it helps the story.
