What we’re about
Have you heard about swimrun and wondering what all the fuss is about? Do you live in Colorado and wonder where we may safely practice this multi-sport?
With Swedish origins, swimrunning is rapidly growing in popularity and new race events are popping up across the country!
This is an exploratory group for Colorado-based swimrunners to find safe practice locations and prepare for local, domestic, and international events!

Hello Everyone!
It has certainly been a while, but we have some incredible news - Swimrun events are coming to Colorado! ÖTILLÖ Colorado is set to take place on October 5th, 2025. Save the date and let's get to training! This will be the first of 2 Saturday meet-ups. My goal is to transition this casual/social meet-up group into a training-specific support group & Colorado team where we can find teammates to train and race with! Currently, we have two training options in Colorado:
- Team Envol (international team with ~8 members in CO so far!)
- WILD Ascent (woman/womxn team/support group for those new to swimrun!)
On May 31st, I will plan to be at the Gravel Ponds starting at 7:00am. I will be bringing my ARK swimrun wet suits + gear for others to view and try out. If you are training for a race, feel free to bring your current wetsuit and gear if you decide to get in for a swim!
If this will be your first time at the Gravel Ponds, parking does fill up rather quickly.
As a note: This is a casual / social meet up group for connections and open discussion on the sport of swimrun. If you decide to swim or run at the Gravel Ponds, you are doing so on your own volition and agree to swim or run at your own risk.
A note on Open Water Swimming safety at Chatfield: It is highly recommended having a high-viz yellow/orange buoy (allows you to safely store a phone and car keys as well). There is no lifeguard on duty at the Gravel Ponds. Per the Chatfield State Park website, swimming is not allowed at the marina, boat docks, any areas marked with Keep Out signs or buoys, and further than 75' from shore in the boating power zone. No one may swim from sunset until sunrise.
Please keep in mind that parking can be VERY limited at the Gravel Pond lot and you may need to park on the other side of the road at King Fisher!
Please reach out with any questions.
This group will be transitioned off Meetup on June 7th.
