Colorado Art Trekkers

Come grab a delicious drink and join us with your favorite sketchbook. We'll bring the prompts, you bring your creativity. Enjoy some me time with other art enthusiasts sketching, coloring, or getting in a little watercolor at AffoGatto Coffee in Peyton. All skill levels welcome.

Art and Nature, a fun and relaxing combination. Come join us as we visit parks around the Colorado Springs area to create art. Bring your medium of choice to do some sketching, coloring, botanical studies, plein air painting, or even photography.

Picnic tables and benches are not always available, so come prepared with an easel, chair, or blanket to work from. And of course, sunscreen, water and a nice hat are a must when enjoying the Colorado outdoors. Given the venue and different artistic interests of those attending, it is expected that people will be scattered around the park in smaller groups and possibly even working alone to capture that perfect composition. Be sure to stay on the paths and out of tall grass, and please do not block other visitors utilizing the trails and park space. Keep it clean and leave no trace, packing out what you bring in, including water and solvents.

Art in the Park is weather dependent and subject to rescheduling. We will watch the weather and make any announcements about changes, so please keep an eye on the event as the date nears.

We've been having a lot of fun coming together once a month to work on our sketchbooks and journals at Jives Coffee Lounge in beautiful Old Colorado City. We will provide prompts to get us all started on filling those books. Bring your sketchbook or journal and whatever medium you choose. Jives Coffee Lounge has awesome coffee, food, and desserts if you also want to order something from the menu, it all looks delicious. This space has a great atmosphere for creative people. We look forward to seeing you there!

Come join us for a few hours practicing the Mandala and Zentangle art forms. Both Mandala and Zentangle are considered meditative art forms focused on pattern. They also go well together to make what is referred to as a Zendala. And best of all, all skill levels are welcome as they are both considered a form of drawing that anyone can do.

Never drawn a Mandala? Never even heard of Zentangle? Fear not! We'll teach you and provide references so that you will be successful with your very first drawing!

Are you a seasoned Zentagler and Mandala drawing pro? Come join us to relax and draw with some peaceful music. Share your knowledge with others as they begin their drawing journey.

Participants are asked to bring their own materials, but we will have a few extras to share:

• Fineliner pens: Suggested sizes are .1, .3, .5
• Heavy paper such as a Bristol smooth. These can be cut down to size for Zentangle tiles.
• Graphite pencil
• Blending stump
• Eraser
• Compass (for mandala)
• Protractor (for mandala)
• Ruler (for mandala)
