Details
At this meetup, Chris Shenton, CTO at V! Studios, will be leading a discussion on using serverless at scale to import a large volume of engineering forms at NASA. Here's a talk teaser from Chris:
NASA's Office of Extra Vehicular Activity (space walks) has a huge archive of scanned engineering documents they need to make searchable to improve astronaut safety; we built them a high-volume Optical Character Recognition system which we deployed to their AWS environment; it was the first use of Serverless technology in NASA's GovCloud, and has demonstrated excellent scalability and cost-savings. We present how serverless architectures differ from conventional designs and how we leverage S3 events to trigger processing by Lambda at scale.
Come and join in on the conversation and meet your fellow AWSers. As always, pizza and drinks will be provided for free by Thorn Tech!
