What we’re about

Hey bookworms!📚 Welcome to the Columbia Book & Bites Club! We’re a bunch of laidback book-loving folks who like to chat, laugh, and maybe even get a little silly over a good read. We’re all about inclusivity, so no judgement zone here! Even if you haven’t read the current book, come join us for some drinks and snacks - we’re always down to meet new people.

Our meetings are usually once a month depending on how thick the book is (no judging if you skim!) You have the chance to pick the venue and the book we read next by attending a meeting - our founding members are happy to share their hosting duties. Plus, we’ve got a few killer book lists from some seriously long-lasting book clubs (like, 60 years!), if you’re looking for inspiration. So what are you waiting for? Join now and come hang out with us! 😀

Monique's Home, You will receive message after RSVP, Columbia, TN, US

Our next Book Club gathering is going to be a deliciously eerie treat! Monique will be hosting at her home on Saturday, October 25 from 1pm to 3pm, and she’s chosen a perfect seasonal read: Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I’m beyond excited to dive into this one—it’s moody, mysterious, and full of autumnal magic.
🕰️ To match the book’s haunting carnival atmosphere, Monique will be serving themed lunch foods and drinks inspired by the time period of the story—think vintage flavors with a twist of the uncanny. And while theme attire is totally optional, I’m absolutely leaning into it. Because when else do I get to be gothy and dramatic? Velvet, lace, and a touch of theatrical flair—yes please.
📍Once you RSVP, you’ll receive a message with directions to Monique’s home. So mark your calendars, channel your inner dark dreamer, and prepare for an afternoon of literary chills and charming company.
📖 Book Synopsis
In Something Wicked This Way Comes, two boys—Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade—find themselves drawn into the sinister world of a traveling carnival that arrives mysteriously in their town. But this is no ordinary show. Led by the enigmatic Mr. Dark, the carnival offers temptations that prey on the deepest desires of its visitors. As the boys uncover itssecrets, they must confront fear, aging, and the shadows that lurk within. Bradbury’s poetic prose and haunting imagery make this a timeless tale of good versus evil wrapped in the golden leaves of October.
