We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker is a powerful novel about family, secrets, and redemption, centered on 13-year-old Duchess Day Radley in a small California town, who acts as protector for her younger brother and troubled mother, Star, when Star's ex-boyfriend, Vincent King, returns after 30 years in prison for a past murder, forcing local Chief Walk to confront his past and setting off tragic events that echo the original crime. It's a story exploring the families we're born into versus the ones we create, highlighting moral complexities and the struggle to outrun a past that haunts the present.

A few meeting notes and thoughts.
At the last meeting we discussed having a set day that everyone can count on for the meetings like “The third Saturday of the month”. This way we all know in advance when the meeting will occur and can plan accordingly. Obviously this can be changed during holidays or if most members can not accommodate but at least we can plan ahead if possible to be available.
We also discussed having a rotation of people whose turn it is to pick a book. That way they can come to the meeting before theirs with their book selection ready. New members can attend until they are comfortable to join the rotation.
