Kant's Copernican Revolution

On March 19th, we'll discuss Immanuel Kant's seminal text "The Critique of Pure Reason". Topics for discussion include the importance of metaphysics, early conceptions of epistemology, and the early debate between empiricists and rationalists that would define a generation of philosophy. We'll connect these early philosophical insights to contemporary topics such as the role that social media and political tribalism play in creating knowledge and notions of truth in American culture today.
