Thank you to all 51 (!) people who have joined this Meetup group, Columbia Songwriters.

I apologize for starting this and leaving it dormant so to speak, but it's time to get the group started and going forward!

I'm hosting our first in-person Meetup next Thursday at my home in Columbia MD. We are limited to ten people for the first event. If lots of people want to join in beyond that number, I promise I will do another meeting at a larger space for our second meetup.

On the Agenda:
Potluck Desserts and Beverages
Bring a song or two to share. Or you can choose to listen if you're not ready to share.
Bring your own guitar if you prefer, but I have two you can borrow.
I also have lots of hand percussion and other fun musical things. Keyboard players - if you need I have an upright piano inside, and we can set up my electric keyboard outside (not quite full size sorry).

We will open the night with a little sing along led by yours truly. We will have desserts and drinks.
Ben will lead a brief writing exercise with a prompt and five minutes of focused writing. Bold people can share what they came up with.
Then we will do a song share.
Each person can present a song they have written or that is in process.
Everyone gets applause no matter what. Then, they can pose a question to the group inviting feedback, or just seek encouragement.
The group will respond in kind.

Depending on the number of people who join us, we may have time to share two songs if everyone gets to do their first one and people still want more music.
