Synopsis:
Objectivism is the political philosophy promulgated by the author Ayn Rand through her various writings, particularly Atlas Shrugged. Objectivism's main ideology promotes laissez-faire capitalism, the importance of pursuing one's own happiness, the necessity of freedom of thought and creativity, and opposes any concept of God or a Greater Power. Freemasonry works for the glory of God and the Perfection of Humanity, and when one is initiated into Freemasonry he must declare a belief in God or a Higher Power. So are these two philosophies compatible in any way? At first glance it seems they are not, but this discussion with delve into the deeper aspects and definitions of each one to see if there can be a point of agreement.
