Should the Modern Mystic Contemplate the Principles of Advanced Mathematics?
Details
January's will be conducted by Bro. Joshua Fradenburg as he asks the question, "Should the Modern Mystic Contemplate the Mathematical Principles of Advanced Mathematics?"
Synopsis:
Students of the mystic arts often recognize the importance of mathematics, but rarely push their mathematical education beyond introductory algebra or geometry. Some will dive into the mystical meanings etched in Euclidean propositions or Platonic solids. In this meeting, we will explore Calculus, the mathematics of Change. To make mathematical concepts accessible to all, we will leverage the rhythms of nature and the human experience. No technical understanding of advanced mathematics is required. Each participant will have the opportunity to develop a new appreciation for Masonic ritual, gain a deeper understanding of the human experience, and gain new confidence in their grasp of mathematics.
Mission Statement:
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
