"Hoichi the Earless" a Ghost Story

The author is Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (1850–1904).
He was born in Greece to an Irish father and a Greek mother.
He resided in Japan from 1890 until his death.
He obtained Japanese citizenship.
He introduced Japanese culture and literature to the Western world.
He collected Japanese legends and ghost stories from his Japanese wife, Setsu.
Based on a Japanese legend, he wrote this ghost story.
