Michelle Ann Abate is Professor of Literature for Children and Young Adults at Ohio State University. She specialises in Comics and Graphic Novels, Children’s and Young Adult Literature, U.S. Literature and Popular Culture, and LGBTQ+ Studies. Her books include a literary and cultural history of Tomboys, 'Bloody Murder - the Homicide Tradition in Children's Literature', and 'Blockheads, Beagles and Sweet Babboos - New Perspectives on Peanuts'. On top of that, Michelle has also edited a critical collection of essays on C.S. Lewis, so her credentials to speak at Magdalen are impeccable!
