What we’re about
Commit & Slay is a laid-back meetup for minority folks who are curious about cybersecurity, cloud, and tech in general—but don’t want to feel talked down to or buried in buzzwords.
This meetup is basically a hangout with purpose. We’re introducing the Commit & Slay podcast and creating a space where people can ask questions, talk shop, and connect without pressure. No lectures. Just real conversations.
The first few meetups will be virtual, so you can pull up from your couch, your desk, or wherever you are. We’ll use these sessions to gauge interest, get to know the community, and see what people actually want to talk about. Expect open Q&A, casual discussion about cybersecurity and cloud, and plenty of room for “wait… can you explain that again?”
Once we get momentum, we’ll move into in-person meetups, starting with:
Gastonia, North Carolina
Jacksonville, Florida
Whether you’re tech-curious, trying to break into tech, already working in the field, or just here to learn something new, you’re welcome.
