Communication Fitness auf Deutsch
Details
You live in Berlin. You can follow conversations in German, but speaking is still slow, stressful or limited. You search for words, simplify your thoughts, avoid longer conversations or automatically switch to English.
Communication Fitness auf Deutsch is a 2.5-hour live communication workout for adults who want to finally use the German they already know.
This session: Self-Introduction
How do you answer “Tell me about yourself” without sounding rehearsed, confused or much less interesting than you actually are?
During this session, you will practise introducing yourself clearly and naturally in German in different situations: at work, while networking and in everyday conversations.
You will not memorise one perfect speech. You will build flexible versions that sound like you and work in real conversations.
What you will practise
- introducing yourself in 30–60 seconds;
- choosing what is relevant in different situations;
- speaking clearly without overexplaining;
- sounding natural instead of memorised;
- asking and answering follow-up questions;
- reacting spontaneously when the conversation changes.
This is not a traditional German class.
No grammar drills.
No vocabulary tests.
No awkward free-form networking.
You train real communication through structured exercises, guided conversations, timed challenges and game mechanics.
The format tells you who to speak with and what happens next. You do not need to approach strangers, invent small talk or perform on a stage.
Most exercises take place in pairs and small groups.
You will speak with several different participants during the evening. Every conversation has a clear task, so you can focus on speaking instead of wondering what to say.
Why Communication Fitness?
Many international people live in Berlin for years but still spend most of their time speaking English or their native language.
You may understand more and more German, but speaking does not improve automatically. It needs regular live practice, just like physical fitness.
Communication Fitness creates a structured space where you can train communication in real time, with real people, in German.
This event is for adults who:
- live in Berlin;
- understand German approximately from B1 level;
- understand more than they can currently say;
- often switch to English or their native language;
- want to communicate more confidently at work and in everyday life;
- want practical speaking experience rather than another grammar lesson.
You do not need perfect German.
You do need enough German to understand instructions and participate in simple conversations.
This event is not suitable for complete beginners.
What you can expect
- short practical input from the host;
- several rounds of guided speaking practice;
- different conversation partners;
- exercises in pairs and small groups;
- clear structure throughout the evening;
- meaningful new contacts without conventional networking;
- a better understanding of what currently blocks your German.
Nobody will unexpectedly call you onto a stage or test your grammar in front of the group.
